When planning a baby shower near Deptford, NJ, dessert is often one of the most anticipated parts of the celebration. Beyond serving something sweet at the end of the meal, dessert displays can become a gathering point for guests and help tie together the overall event experience. At Adelphia Weddings, our banquet menus include several dessert enhancements that can complement a baby shower of many different styles and sizes.
Here's a closer look at what we offer and how each option works for this type of event. Why Dessert Displays Matter for Baby Showers Near Deptford, NJ
Most banquet menus include a standard dessert course, but for a baby shower specifically, the dessert display often carries more weight than it does at other events. It stays visible for much of the gathering, it gives guests something to return to between conversations, and it's frequently the part of the setup that gets the most attention. Our banquet menus include several enhancements that go beyond the base dessert and give you more to work with when planning a baby shower near Deptford, NJ.
What the Sweet Table Brings to Your Baby Shower Near Deptford, NJ
Our banquet menus include a Sweet Table Assortment featuring mini pastries and assorted desserts as a dessert enhancement. Offering a variety of dessert options allows guests to choose items that appeal to their preferences while adding a visual dessert display to the event. The sweet table is an addition to the base dessert of assorted cookies and biscotti that comes standard with our banquet menus, so guests have both a served course and a display to choose from.
The Candy Bar and Color Coordination Options
Several Adelphia banquet menus include a candy bar enhancement with six varieties of candy and color coordination options available. For baby showers near Deptford, NJ, this can be a straightforward way to align the dessert selections with the colors chosen for the occasion. Whether your shower follows a specific nursery theme or a simple two-color palette, the color coordination option allows the candy bar to work alongside the rest of your event setup rather than sitting apart from it.
Chocolate Fountain and Ice Cream Enhancements
A chocolate fountain is available as a dessert enhancement on select banquet menus and includes fruit, pretzels, marshmallows, and brownies for dipping. This enhancement is available for groups meeting the minimum guest requirement stated on our banquet menus. If your baby shower near Deptford, NJ has a smaller guest count, the sweet table assortment and candy bar are available without a minimum and can still provide a full dessert display.
Vanilla ice cream is also available as a separate dessert enhancement. It adds a lighter option to the dessert selections and works well alongside the sweet table for guests who prefer something less rich. Dessert Planning Policies to Know
Dessert selections are part of the menu choices due ten days before your event. Finalizing those selections at that point, including any color coordination details for the candy bar, gives our team the preparation time needed and removes that item from your list in the final week before the shower.
Your final guest count is submitted five days before the event and can increase after submission, but not decrease. Since certain enhancements, such as the chocolate fountain, have guest count requirements, having a confirmed headcount before you finalize your dessert selections is the right order of operations. Outside candy buffets from vendors are not permitted. If you bring an outside cake, a cutting fee applies. We can provide cakes and additional desserts directly, so it's worth asking about those options when you reach out. Conclusion
Adelphia Weddings is located at 1750 Clements Bridge Road in Deptford, New Jersey, just minutes from Philadelphia and convenient to families across South Jersey, including Gloucester County, Camden County, and the surrounding area.

The engagement party is its own kind of celebration. It's not the wedding; it's the moment before the wedding, when the people closest to you get their first chance to raise a glass and mark the beginning of something big. The food you choose shapes how that evening feels. Too formal and it loses its warmth. Too casual and it doesn't match the occasion. Getting that balance right matters, and Adelphia Weddings' banquet menus give you several formats to consider, from hors d'oeuvres and cocktail-style service to luncheon, dinner, and buffet options.
Here's a practical look at what actually works for this type of event. Matching the Right Menu to Your Engagement Party Near Cherry Hill
The question most couples ask first is whether to do a seated dinner or something more relaxed. The honest answer is that it depends on who you're inviting and what kind of energy you want in the room. Here's how we'd think through it.
When a Cocktail Style Format Makes More Sense
An engagement party near Cherry Hill with a mixed crowd, family from both sides, close friends, maybe colleagues, tends to work better when guests aren't locked into assigned seats from the start. A cocktail style format gives people room to move around, find each other, and actually talk.
At Adelphia, the Cocktail Party Package is built for this kind of event. Heavy displayed hors d'oeuvres are replenished continuously for two hours, so the food stays fresh and accessible throughout rather than appearing once and disappearing. You choose two salad stations from options like a Harvest Salad with walnuts, crumbled bleu cheese, and apples in cider vinaigrette, a Chopped Greek Salad, an Antipasto, or a Caesar Salad. Two carving stations follow, with selections including Roast Sirloin of Beef, Virginia Baked Ham with pineapple sauce, and Boneless Breast of Turkey with gravy and cranberry sauce. A pasta station and a cold station round out the spread, and the evening closes with assorted mini pastries. The Cocktail Party Package must be accompanied by a cash bar, tab bar, or open bar, with bar options available through Adelphia's banquet beverage menu. For a visual spread that looks generous from the moment guests arrive, this format delivers. When a Seated Dinner Fits Better
Some couples prefer to gather their closest people around a table. If your engagement party near Cherry Hill is smaller and more intimate, a plated dinner creates a different kind of moment. It slows things down in a good way and gives the meal a sense of occasion that a standing event doesn't quite replicate.
Our banquet dinner menu is available for parties of 18 or more with a start time between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. It opens with freshly baked bread and butter, soup du jour, and a garden salad, with the option to upgrade to a Caesar or Greek salad. A pasta course can be added before the entrees. You then select three entrée options for your guests to choose from on the evening. The range covers a lot of ground. On the lighter side, there's grilled salmon with olive oil and lemon butter sauce and chicken florentine with grilled tomato, sautéed spinach, mozzarella, and lemon butter. For guests who want something more substantial, filet mignon with golden fried onion rings, prime rib au jus, and veal marsala with onions, mushrooms, and prosciutto ham are all available. Pasta complete options like cheese ravioli in vodka blush sauce work well for guests who prefer no meat. Having three choices on the table means most guests find something that suits them. Dessert includes assorted cookies and biscotti, with enhancements available including a sweet table assortment of mini pastries, a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit and pretzels, a candy bar in six varieties, and ice cream. A Daytime Celebration Calls for the Luncheon Menu
Not every engagement party is an evening event. A midday celebration with close family has its own charm, and our banquet luncheon menu runs from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM for parties of 18 or more. It follows a similar structure to the dinner menu with entrée selections including baked filet of flounder, grilled salmon, chicken marsala, chicken parmigiana, prime rib au jus, and pasta, complete options like penne with sundried tomato pesto and penne primavera. It's a full, satisfying meal that tends to suit the daytime engagement party crowd well.
Thinking About the Hors d'Oeuvres
Hors d'oeuvres can be a helpful starting point when you want guests to settle in and begin the celebration with something easy to enjoy. At Adelphia, they can be offered as displayed items on a station, passed through the room via butler service, or both. Options include crab imperial stuffed mushroom caps, sea scallops with snow pea pod wrapped in bacon, spinach and feta cheese phyllo triangles, coconut shrimp with pineapple cilantro sauce, pistachio crusted chicken tenders with honey mustard sauce, and buffalo chicken spring rolls, among others. An unlimited hors d'oeuvres option is also available for one hour, with your choice of three or six selections served continuously.
Adding a Toast to the Occasion
A champagne or sparkling cider toast appears as a beverage enhancement on Adelphia's banquet menus, and for an engagement party near Cherry Hill, it's one of the more fitting additions to consider. Bar options are available through Adelphia's banquet beverage menu, including open bar by the hour in-house and premium tiers, a consumption bar with a predetermined tab, and a cash bar option that can be added alongside any other bar arrangement.
Practical Details to Plan Around
Menu selections are due ten days before your event. Your final guest count is submitted five days out and can increase after submission, but not decrease. Outside food and beverages are not permitted without prior approval from the banquet manager. If you bring an outside cake, a cutting fee applies. Candy buffets from outside vendors are not permitted. Access to your event space begins one hour before the event start time. For private room policies, contact Adelphia directly through the Pricing Guide page so the team can confirm what applies to your event.

There's a moment most couples hit a few months into planning where the excitement starts to feel like a second job. Venue deposit here, florist quote there, cake tasting somewhere else, and somehow you're the one holding all of it together. We built Adelphia Weddings specifically for couples who want their wedding day to feel like a wedding day, not the finish line of a logistics marathon.
Here's exactly how we take that weight off your shoulders. How Adelphia Weddings Simplifies Wedding Planning
Wedding planning has a way of expanding far beyond what most couples expect. What starts as choosing a date and a dress quickly turns into a running list of vendors, contracts, and follow-up emails. At Adelphia, we've structured everything so that the list stays short. One conversation with our team sets the whole thing in motion, and from there, the pieces come together without you having to chase them down.
One Team Handles What Most Couples Source From Multiple Vendors
Most venues give you a space and a list of vendors to call. At Adelphia, the catering, bar, cake, linens, selected decor, lighting, staffing, and fresh floral centerpieces through Sunshine Flowers are coordinated through our team. That means no chasing down confirmations from five different people the week of your wedding. Everything is coordinated internally, so nothing falls through the cracks.
The Food and Bar Experience is Already Coordinated
Weddings have been part of the Adelphia experience since 2001. Your evening starts with a cocktail hour featuring chef-curated displays and eight varieties of butler-passed hors d'oeuvres served in unlimited amounts. Dinner is our Signature Pan Athenian four-course service, plated on fine wedding china as part of a dining experience designed specifically around your wedding night.
Before any of this happens, you and four guests come in for a private tasting. You finalize the menu on your terms, not under pressure, the week of the event. A 5 1/2 hour top shelf open bar is part of every wedding package. Ultra-premium liquors, a champagne toast, tableside wine service with dinner, bottled beer, fresh juices, soft beverages, and a signature craft cocktail of your choosing. The open bar is already included as part of the wedding package. The Details Are Included Before You Arrive
Your custom wedding cake is included and designed to match what you actually want. Beyond the cake, your guests get a sweet table with over 20 varieties of mini pastries and desserts, an ice cream bar with assorted toppings, and a chocolate lava fountain with fresh fruit.
Floor-length tablecloths and napkins in your chosen color, fine china and glassware, fresh floral centerpieces from Sunshine Flowers at every guest table, a hand-sculpted ice display, custom floor plans, table numbers, and a decorative card box. All handled by our team before you arrive. In the Pan Athenian Grand Ballroom, built-in LED uplighting lets you shift the room's mood from the warmth of dinner to the energy of the dance floor without hiring a separate lighting company. Valet parking is provided for guests, and a coatroom with an attendant is available for cooler months. Support Throughout Your Wedding Day
Ninety minutes before the ceremony, you and your wedding party move into your private bridal suite, complete with a personal bathroom. A dedicated bridal attendant is there to assist you throughout your celebration. During cocktail hour, full attended food and beverage service comes to the suite so you can enjoy that time with your wedding party before the reception begins.
Your Maître D' coordinates and guides your wedding party to the ceremony space and helps oversee the flow of the celebration. If something needs adjusting, the team handles it. Planning Is Organized and Easy to Follow
After booking, your floor plan, linen colors, and custom design details are worked out with our team. Your private tasting happens well before the event. Menu selections are finalized ten days out. Your final guest count is submitted five days before the wedding. From there, we take it from the bridal suite straight through to the last dance.

Here's a closer look at what you get when you host with us.

Our Banquet Luncheon Menu is designed for daytime events and is the natural fit for a bridal shower. The base includes fresh-baked bread and butter, a garden salad, and your choice of three entrees, each served with a vegetable and potato of the day.
The entree selection covers seafood, steak, chicken, and pasta, giving guests a real range to choose from. Options include Grilled Salmon, Chicken Marsala with mushrooms and prosciutto, Baked Filet of Flounder, Prime Rib Au Jus, Chicken Parmigiana, Cheese Ravioli, and Penne Primavera, among others. Special entrees are available at an additional fee based on individual needs. These additions let you build a longer, more relaxed meal at the table. Hors d'Oeuvres for Guest Arrival
Guests trickle in, find their seats, and catch up. Our displayed hors d'oeuvres give them something to enjoy right away. Options include fresh tomatoes with mozzarella and balsamic glaze, seasonal fruit, assorted gourmet cheese, and fried calamari. For groups that want a fuller bar, we offer open bar packages by duration, from one hour up to four hours in-house and premium tiers. Consumption and cash bar options are also available. A First Holy Communion is one of those days a family holds onto for a long time. The photos, the meal, the cousins running between tables, the grandparents who drove in from two states away. At Adelphia Weddings in Deptford, NJ, we have been hosting family celebrations for over three decades. We understand how meaningful a gathering like this is, and we are here to make the planning process as smooth as possible for you. We have the private spaces, menu range, and experience with family events to support that. Here is a closer look at how it all works. Private Event Spaces for Your First Holy Communion in South Jersey
We offer both private rooms and semi-private spaces, and the right fit depends on the size of your group.
Private rooms are suited for larger family gatherings and include ivory linen tablecloths. Both options give your family a dedicated area to gather, eat, and celebrate without the distraction of a busy dining room around you. Outside linens and charger plates are not permitted, so confirm your preferences with our banquet office when you book. You have access to your event space one hour before your start time to bring in decor or personal touches before guests arrive. Nothing can be affixed to walls, floors, ceilings, or furnishings, so plan accordingly if you are working with a decorator. A Luncheon Menu the Whole Family Will Enjoy
Our banquet luncheon menu is built for the late morning and early afternoon window that most First Holy Communion celebrations fall into. Events start between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM, with a minimum of 18 guests.
Every luncheon begins with fresh-baked bread and butter and a garden salad. You can upgrade to a Caesar salad with romaine, seasoned croutons, and parmesan, or a Greek salad with feta, kalamata olives, and chopped peppers. A pasta course is available as an add-on, with options including penne alla vodka blush, stuffed shells, and sacchetti with basil pesto sauce. For the main course, you choose three entrees for your guests. Options include grilled salmon with olive oil and lemon butter, chicken marsala with prosciutto and mushrooms, chicken parmigiana, prime rib au jus, and cheese ravioli in a vodka blush sauce. All entrees are served with a vegetable and a potato of the day. Dessert begins with assorted cookies and biscotti. Enhancements include a sweet table assortment of mini pastries, ice cream, a candy bar in six varieties, and a chocolate fountain with fruit, pretzels, marshmallows, and brownies, available for groups of 100 or more. If you are bringing an outside cake, a cutting fee applies. Outside vendor candy buffets are not permitted. The Children's Menu
We offer a dedicated children's menu for guests ages 10 and under, with options including chicken fingers and French fries, grilled cheese, hot dog, hamburger, cheeseburger, cheese ravioli, penne marinara with meatball, and penne with butter. With the younger guests well taken care of, the adults at the table can settle in and enjoy the meal.
Welcoming Guests with Hors d'Oeuvres
If your family tends to arrive in waves after Mass, starting with Hors d'Oeuvres keeps the room feeling lively while everyone settles in.
For butlered service, you can choose unlimited options served for one hour, with selections such as spinach and feta phyllo triangles, coconut chicken tenders with pineapple cilantro sauce, crab imperial stuffed mushroom caps, and bruschetta pomodoro. For displayed options, choices include seasonal fresh fruit, a gourmet cheese display, and fresh tomatoes with mozzarella, basil, and balsamic glaze. A shrimp cocktail display is also available. Displayed options work particularly well for a relaxed family gathering where guests are mingling before everyone is seated. Beverage Options for a Family Celebration
We offer several bar configurations for a First Holy Communion luncheon, and they can be combined to suit your preferences.
Open Bar: An open bar covers beer, wine, and spirits in-house and premium tiers, available by duration. It is a straightforward option for families who want drinks handled without ongoing decisions throughout the event. Consumption Bar The consumption bar runs with a bartender fee and a tab set to your parameters. You control which drink categories are included and how far the tab goes, giving you flexibility without committing to a full open bar. Cash Bar: A cash bar allows guests to purchase drinks directly. It can run alongside an open or consumption bar at no additional cost, giving guests the option to order items outside your package. Beverage Stations: Beverage stations with house wine by the bottle, a mimosa or bloody mary bar, or red and white sangria are available and do not require a bartender. They are a relaxed, low-maintenance addition for a daytime family event. Coffee, tea, and soda are available with the luncheon menu for an additional fee. Planning Details to Know Before You Book
Menu selections, including entrees, desserts, bar choices, and any enhancements, are due 10 days before your event. Your final guest count is due 5 days out. Once submitted, the count can increase but cannot decrease. Charges on the day reflect whichever is higher, the count submitted or the number actually served.

There is a moment, usually somewhere between choosing your dress and finalizing your guest list, when the reception venue stops being a line item and becomes the whole picture. It is the room your grandmother will remember. It is where your best friend will get emotional during the toast. Getting that room right matters, and if you are searching for a wedding reception venue in Deptford, NJ, we want to tell you exactly what planning with us looks like.
At Adelphia Weddings, we have been hosting weddings since 2001. What to Expect When You Plan Your Wedding Reception at Adelphia Weddings
Every couple that walks through our doors has a slightly different vision. Some want a grand Saturday evening with a full dinner and an open bar that keeps the dance floor going. Others want something more relaxed on a Friday or Sunday with a smaller guest count and a menu built around the food they actually love. What stays the same is our approach: honest planning, great food, and a staff that treats your event as personally as you do.
Here is what you can expect when you plan your wedding reception with us. Choosing Your Wedding Reception Space
We have two dedicated wedding reception rooms, and the right one comes down to your guest count and the day you choose.
The Pan Athenian Grand Ballroom is our primary reception space, where most of our Saturday couples celebrate. The Pan Athenian Center Reception is a strong fit for couples who want something more intimate, whether that means a smaller guest list or a Friday or Sunday event. Both rooms include ivory linen tablecloths, and we offer complimentary napkin colors in white, black, red, light pink, royal blue, hunter green, and gold. Specialty linens are available at an additional fee. Outside linens and charger plates are not permitted, so if you have a linen vendor in mind, check with our banquet office before booking them.
Building Your Wedding Reception Menu
Every reception dinner at Adelphia Weddings starts with fresh-baked bread and butter, a soup du jour, and a garden salad. Salad enhancements are available, including options for Caesar or Greek salads.
For the main course, you choose three entrees for your guests to select from on the evening. Options include grilled salmon with olive oil and lemon butter, prime rib au jus, filet mignon with golden fried onion rings, chicken marsala with prosciutto and mushrooms, and cheese ravioli in a vodka blush sauce for guests who prefer a pasta option. A pasta course is also available as an add-on. For dessert, enhancements can be requested to complement your reception, including a sweet table assortment of mini pastries, a chocolate fountain with fruit, pretzels, marshmallows, and brownies (available for groups of 100 or more), a candy bar in six varieties, and ice cream. If you plan to bring an outside cake, a cutting fee applies. Outside vendor candy buffets are not permitted. Cocktail Hour Hors d'Oeuvres
Your cocktail hour runs on Hors d'Oeuvres, and you have real options here. Choose unlimited butlered service for one hour, individual displayed or butlered items, or a shrimp cocktail display. A few favorites from our menu include crab tortoni with garlic caper aioli, sea scallops wrapped in bacon, coconut shrimp with pineapple cilantro sauce, and spinach and feta phyllo triangles.
The Bar Program for Your Reception
We offer open bar, consumption bar, and cash bar setups, and they can be combined depending on what works best for your group.
An open bar covers beer, wine, and spirits in-house and premium tiers, available by duration. The consumption bar runs with a bartender fee and a tab set to your parameters, giving you full control over which drink categories are available and how far the tab goes. A cash bar can run alongside either option at no additional cost, giving guests the ability to order outside your package.
Our wine list pulls from California, Italy, New Zealand, France, Greece, Argentina, Chile, and Oregon. Sparkling selections include Mionetto Prosecco, Korbel Brut Rosé, and Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label. For something a little different during cocktail hour, we offer a mimosa or bloody mary bar and red or white sangria, both served by the carafe. Beverage stations do not require a bartender, making them a clean add-on that does not affect your bar package.
The Planning Timeline
We recommend booking your wedding reception 6 to 12 months in advance, especially for Saturday dates. Once your deposit is placed and your contract is signed, your date is secured. From there, we work through menu selections and your final guest count together in the weeks leading up to your event. Reach out to our team directly for a full breakdown of the planning process and what to expect at each stage.
Conclusion
We have been hosting weddings since 2001, and the couples who celebrate with us tend to remember two things: the food and the way the staff moved through the room all night. If you want to talk through what your wedding reception could look like, call us at (856) 845-8200, email [email protected], or visit adelphiaweddings.com to request our full pricing guide.
